Puducherry: Through a recent notice, the Health Department of Puducherry has given its nod to Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC) to fill up the vacant seats Rajiv Gandhi Ayurveda Medical College

As per the notice, the competent authority has approved filling the vacant seats in any quota of Rajiv Gandhi Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital, Mahe, after the mop-up round of self-supporting seats. The fee structure will be Rs 2.00 lakh per year.

The CENTAC has been directed to start the admission process for the same by issuing notifications inviting applications and selecting candidates for admission. The candidates must keep track of the official website for further updates.

Rajiv Gandhi Ayurveda Medical College (RGAMC) was established at Mahe in 2010 with the approval of the Department of AYUSH, Govt. of India. This institution is functioning under the PerunthalaivarKamaraj Medical College Society (PKMCS), governed by Govt. of Puducherry. This is the only college in South India funded by the Department of AYUSH – Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi.

Courses offered –

1. BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery)

2. DAPT (Diploma for Ayurveda Panchakarma Therapist)

AYUSH counselling is conducted by the Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC). It is a common admission portal for all the colleges of Puducherry and is established by the Government of Puducherry. Under this, the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination and appeared in such a qualifying examination are eligible for admission. There are various courses under its umbrella.

Recently Medical Dialogues team reported that CENTAC released a revised list of vacancies in UG NEET - MBBS / BDS / BAMS courses after the mop-up round. 168 seats are left vacant after the mop-up round. The government quota has 35 seats, and the management quota has 133 seats. The application window for new registration closed on 18.12.2023. The applications were invited for admission to the first year MBBS (Management Quota only) / BDS (Government and Management Quota seats) / BAMS (Government Quota seats) for the academic year 2022-23 in Government / Self-financing Colleges in the UT of Puducherry.
