Bengaluru: 92-year-old doctor murder case, police suspects caretaker and personal secretary

Bengaluru: The Sadshivanagar police have found two suspects related to Dr. Shivalingaiah's murder attempt case. The victim is 92 years old and founder trustee of Dr BR Ambedkar Medical and Engineering Colleges. 

After intensifying the investigation process, the police found the duo, one is a caretaker and the other is a personal secretary of the nonagenarian involved in the victim's murder attempt as they were allegedly plotting to take over crores of properties from Shivalingaiah.

According to the police, after the victim was taken to a private hospital, the victim underwent a few medical tests which revealed tablets containing aluminum present in the victim's body. The police suspect that the victim consumed coffee given by the suspects that contained a harmful chemical that could have turned deadly for the victim.

After the incident, a complaint was lodged against the duo by Dr. Ravi Prakash, the victim's son in the Sadashivanagar police station. The police then conducted an inspection at the victim's house along with Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team.

A police official told TNIE, "The case is being investigated. No arrests have been made yet as the role of the suspects needs to be proved. The opinion of experts is being sought. A case of murder along with other sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered based on the complaint filed by the son," said an official.

The police are investigating each and every person related to the victim, the doctors who are currently treating the victim have also been investigated. The duo was found to be working for 15 years with the victim and allegedly forced the victim to sign blank papers. The caretaker attempted to prepare documents to prove that the victim had married her in order to be able to claim the victim's property.
