SCTIMST develops Interactive DashBoard to visualise COVID situation in India
Thiruvananthapuram: A Group of research scholars and faculty at Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies (AMCHSS), a wing of Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Health Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), who have been working closely with governmental agencies and academic institutions on COVID-19 response in India developed an "Interactive dashboard" to visualize the covid-19 situation in India.
The purpose of this dashboard is to demonstrate the application of data science methods and epidemiological techniques to monitor and track the spread and offer insights into the transmission dynamics and progression of the COVID-19 epidemic in India.

It is developed as a proof of concept to demonstrate the application of data analytics, data visualization and advanced epidemiological methods in monitoring an infectious disease outbreak, generate evidence, and develop a decision support system to augment the current mitigation strategies.
It uses data from the API at COVID-19India.org. All data cleaning, manipulation, statistical analysis, and dashboard development were done using open-source software (R & R Studio). A blog exploring the scientific and public health implications of the dashboard is also available.-
The team consists of Dr. Arun Mitra, Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Dr. Rakhal Gaitonde and Dr. Biju Soman. Prof.Sankara Sarma, Head of Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies (AMCHSS) launched the "Interactive Dash Board".
